Biography

Zhengyan Gu is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Boston. Zhengyan participates in the representation of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Zhengyan has been part of the teams advising:
- Advent International in its acquisition of a substantial minority stake in Iodine Software, LLC, in a transaction that valued Iodine at more than $1 billion and its acquisition of a significant stake in Imperial Dade
- Permira in its acquisition of a majority interest in Reorg
- PSG in its acquisitions of DoseSpot and Yottaa, Inc.
- TruArc Partners (f/k/a Snow Phipps Group) and its portfolio company Brook & Whittle Limited (B&W) in the sale of B&W to Genstar Capital
Zhengyan received her LL.M. in International Taxation from University of Michigan Law School and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, she served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Linda CJ Lee of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II. She received her B.A. in Accounting from Beijing Technology and Business University and her J.M. from Peking University, where she received Outstanding Academic Scholarships and served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Law School Graduate Student Council.
Zhengyan is a native Mandarin speaker and is qualified as an attorney in the People’s Republic of China.
