Melina Husic
Biography
Melina Husic is an Associate in the Restructuring department of the Frankfurt office. Her practice focuses on multinational restructurings as well as insolvency proceedings. She advises companies, management and investors in distressed and crisis situations as well as parties involved in insolvency litigation.
Since joining Weil, Melina's experience includes advising:
- Lone Star Funds in the acquisition of the engineered material business (development and supply of polyamide-based engineered material solutions and services) from DOMO Chemicals
- TI Automotive on the successful transformation and sale of its plastic injection molding business in Mühlacker, Germany
- First Brands Group on its $1.1 billion DIP financing and Chapter 11 restructuring
- Superior Industries Group, an aluminum wheels manufacturer, on its European transformation
- NRDC Equity Partners in the acquisition of Germany's largest department store chain GALERIA Karstadt Kaufhof out of insolvency
Melina studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (law degree 2020) and at Université Paris II Panthéon Assas (Maîtrise en droit 2020). She completed her legal clerkship in Frankfurt, working as a research assistant and legal trainee in the Complex Commercial Litigation department of a leading US law firm. She was admitted to practice in Germany in 2023.
Melina is fluent in German (mother tongue), English, French and Bosnian (mother tongue).
