Weil has been named Class Action Litigation Department of the Year at the 2026 New York Law Journal Legal Awards. Together with our 2026 recognition as a finalist in the General Litigation and Product Liability Litigation Department of the Year categories, these honors from NYLJ showcase the cross-practice strength of Weil’s global Litigation Department.

NYLJ selected Weil for winning big across the board in class actions raising some of the most significant and heavily litigated issues of this generation. We continued our dominance in Delaware fiduciary duty stockholder class actions, securing a major Delaware Supreme Court reversal for TripAdvisor in a case at the vanguard of the “DExit” movement. We protected Grubhub before the Second Circuit in an important platform liability antitrust suit attacking its user terms of service. And, our team demonstrated its leadership in the fast-evolving privacy space by obtaining a Sixth Circuit victory for Paramount Global in a nationwide Video Privacy Protection Act class action, which we will litigate before the U.S. Supreme Court this coming term. All the while, we seized a number of rare or high-profile early-stage victories in cases touching on plastics pollution (for ExxonMobil), the FTX scandal (for MLB Players Association), greenwashing and ultra-processed foods (for lululemon and PepsiCo, respectively), and NIL rights in high school athletics (for PlayOn! Sports).

The publication featured Global Litigation Co-Chair David Lender in a Q&A discussing some of the Department’s recent wins and our mobilization of the next generation of litigators.

Weil has now won the Class Action Litigation Department of the Year category four times since the Legal Awards launched in 2018.

The Legal Awards recognize “the attorneys and judges whose dedication, innovation, and leadership have profoundly impacted the legal profession across the state.”

Winners were announced at an event in New York City on September 3.
