Daily Business Review has named Weil a finalist in two categories at the Florida Legal Awards 2026.
The Firm was shortlisted in the “Litigation Department of the Year, General Litigation” category following an exceptional year of delivering major victories for clients in Florida, including seven remarkable wins in eight months for Suven Pharmaceuticals amid a flurry of motions and appeals in a trade secrets case, the early dismissal of novel “greenwashing” claims against lululemon athletica, and a pivotal dismissal for PepsiCo of novel claims regarding “ultra-processed foods.”
Weil was also shortlisted in this category in 2024. This follows the Firm’s recent winning of “Litigation Department of the Year: Antitrust” honors at the National Law Journal Legal Awards 2025. The Firm was also named a finalist for “Litigation Department of the Year: Professional Liability” at the New York Law Journal 2025 New York Legal Awards and for “Litigation Departments of the Year: Products Liability” at The American Lawyer 2025 Industry Awards.
Restructuring partner and Miami office Co-Managing Partner David J. Cohen was named a finalist for “Dealmaker of the Year” for guiding several of the state’s largest bankruptcies last year. Among his accomplishments in 2025, he helped guide Steward Health Care in its chapter 11 with more than $9.2 billion in liabilities, which included the sale of nine hospitals in Florida; Nicklaus Companies and subsidiaries in their voluntary chapter 11 cases; and FLUENT Corp in the sale of its Pennsylvania holdings to HIVE Holdings.
This is the second consecutive year David has been honored in this series. He was named an attorney “On the Rise” in the publication’s Florida Legal Awards 2025.
The awards honor “the extraordinary talent and achievements within Florida’s vibrant legal community.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Miami on April 29.
