Weil has received high marks on two separate summer associate satisfaction surveys in 2024.
Weil achieved a top-five ranking in Law360’s annual survey for the second straight year, and The American Lawyer ranked the Firm 11th.
Justin Lee, Co-Chair of Weil’s Summer Associate Program in New York, told Law360 that Weil’s program strikes a unique balance of social engagements and substantive work opportunities.
"I think one thing that we do well, year over year, is really trying to be down the middle with the summer associate experience, where we balance the heavy social aspects of it [with] actually understanding what we do and what we're all about," Justin said. “The fact that people still have a really fun summer program experience, notwithstanding the fact that they're also doing substantive work, they're engaged on active client matters, and they're learning from people that they'll ultimately work with, is a testament to the strength of the balance between those.”
Responding to a question from The American Lawyer about how they would describe Weil to law school classmates upon returning to school in the fall, one associate said simply, “The best.”
Law360 surveyed summer associates between June 13 and August 11, receiving 583 responses from 1Ls, 2Ls and 3Ls, as well as part-time and evening students. Participants were required to identify the organizations where they were completing their summer associate programs.
The American Lawyer received 3,077 responses to its survey, which asked summer associates about various aspects of their experiences, including perks, client work they were entrusted with and feedback received from full-time associates and partners.
