Crain’s New York Business has named Corporate Department Chairman Michael J. Aiello, Litigation Department Co-Chair John Neuwirth and Restructuring Department Co-Chair Sunny Singh among its 2026 “Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law.” The list recognizes New York-based leaders who are helping companies navigate an evolving business environment and identify opportunities for growth.
Michael was recognized for his leadership on many of the market’s largest and most complex transactions. Crain’s noted that, over the past 18 months, he has led more than 20 deals with an aggregate value exceeding $75 billion and, over the past five years, has advised on more than 100 deals valued at more than $400 billion. The publication also highlighted his work advising The Home Depot in its expansion into the professional contractor market, as well as his pro bono and community service.
John was recognized for his leadership of Weil’s global Litigation Department and his work on significant, high-stakes disputes. Crain’s highlighted the Department’s continued growth as a major profit center, generating more than $600 million in revenue in 2025, as well as John’s unanimous Delaware Supreme Court victory on behalf of Brookfield Asset Management in a significant stockholder class action. The publication also noted his service on the Board of Advisors of NYU School of Law’s Institute for Corporate Governance and Finance.
Sunny was recognized for his work advising debtors, creditors, boards, sponsors and investors on complex domestic and cross-border restructurings. Crain’s highlighted his leadership of Fossil Group’s restructuring, which involved the first “Stapled Exchange” undertaken by a U.S. public company, an innovative transaction structure that allowed the company to restructure $150 million in debt outside of chapter 11 through a U.K. court-approved process that was subsequently recognized by a U.S. court.
