World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) has recognized Weil as a “Highly Recommended” firm in its 2025 USA Trade Secrets rankings and as a “Recommended” firm in its 2025 USA Patents (Contentious) rankings. Additionally, two of our partners were honored with individual recognitions: IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice Co-Head Doug Lumish received a “Highly Recommended” ranking for USA Patents (Contentious) and an “Outstanding” ranking for USA Trade Secrets. Complex Commercial Litigation and Appeals and Strategic Counseling partner Adam Gershenson also received a “Recommended” ranking for USA Trade Secrets.

In its Trade Secrets report, WIPR highlighted how clients rely on Weil’s team “not only to develop preventative frameworks, such as trade secret identification, protection protocols, and internal investigations, but also to prosecute and defend matters that carry existential risk, including multi-jurisdictional misappropriation claims and cross-border enforcement actions.” In its Patents report, WIPR noted our broad ranging capabilities, adding that “the Firm has a strong, respected intellectual property practice, encompassing litigation, technology and IP transactions, and strategic IP counselling.” WIPR further praised Weil’s expanded IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice, particularly our investments in “technology and life sciences capabilities.”

WIPR’s 2025 USA Patents rankings cover “the firms handling the most consequential matters in the U.S., and those developing patent portfolios for some of the world’s biggest companies.” WIPR’s 2025 USA Trade Secrets rankings are defined by “a legal landscape of nuclear verdicts, judicial reversals, and the explosive intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and proprietary data.”
