London Restructuring partner Mark Lawford has been identified as one of Financier Worldwide’s 2026 “Power Players: Distinguished Advisers” for Bankruptcy & Insolvency.
In a profile and Q&A, the publication highlighted Mark’s 25 years of experience advising on complex cross-border restructurings and insolvencies and the associated litigation, as well as his role as chair of R3’s general technical committee.
Mark pointed to Weil’s use of a restructuring plan for Fossil Group to backstop a US public exchange offer, while maintaining the group’s NASDAQ listing, as an example of the innovative cross-border use of restructuring procedures he expects to continue. He also expects liability management exercises to feature more heavily as an alternative to formal restructuring procedures, with their boundaries in Europe still being tested.
