Vanessa K. Sim is an associate in Weil’s IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice based in San Francisco. She has experience with all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation evaluation, fact discovery, expert discovery, motion practice, trial and post-trial.

Vanessa’s practice is dedicated to patent infringement disputes and other high-stakes IP litigation involving a diverse array of technologies, including medical devices, agricultural technology, wireless communications, battery manufacturing, and computer software, among others.

Vanessa is a former clerk for Judges Haywood S. Gilliam, Jon S. Tigar, Yvonne Gonzalez-Rogers, and Jeffrey S. White in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and previously was an associate at another major international law firm. She is a licensed patent attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Vanessa earned her B.S. in biological sciences and her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine, where she was staff editor and articles manager of the UC Irvine Law Review.
