Biography
Chris Scheren is an associate in Weil’s Securities Litigation practice, where he focuses on defending securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and M&A litigation in state and federal courts.
Some of Chris’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- American Securities in stockholder litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery relating to American Securities’ acquisition of Foundation Building Materials.
- Gores Metropoulos II, a SPAC sponsored by affiliates of The Gores Group and Dean Metropoulos, and its former directors and officers in stockholder litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery relating to Gores Metropoulos II’s merger with Sonder Holdings Inc.
- HLD Associés portfolio company, Microwave Vision S.A. (MVG), along with MVG's founder and directors, in stockholder litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery arising out of MVG’s acquisition of the minority shares of Orbit/FR, Inc.
- lululemon athletica and its senior officers and directors in a securities class action and stockholder derivative actions filed in the Southern District of New York.
- Neogen Corporation and its directors and officers in a securities class action and derivative actions in Michigan federal court, and a securities class action in Minnesota state court.
- Members of a special committee of the board of directors of Agiliti in a stockholder class action in the Delaware Court of Chancery arising out of Agiliti’s acquisition by THL Partners.
- A fintech business in a breach of contract action in the Delaware Superior Court.
Chris also has an active pro bono practice, including work on behalf of the Innocence Project and in conjunction with Legal Services NYC representing an individual in New York City Housing Court.
Chris earned his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he was an Executive Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. During law school, he also served as a Judicial Extern to the Hon. Virginia M. Kendall of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Chris received his B.A., cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science and History from Miami University.
