Brian F. Williamson

Brian Williamson is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice, based in Washington, D.C.

Before joining Weil, Brian served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois. As a federal prosecutor, Brian tried multiple federal jury trials, including the sex crimes trial of disgraced R&B superstar R. Kelly. While in Chicago, Brian also successfully represented the United States in several oral arguments before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Brian previously worked at another global law firm and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael Y. Scudder of the U.S. Court of the Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Prior to his legal career, Brian served as an intelligence officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency. In that role, Brian wrote assessments and delivered briefings on political-military issues in Afghanistan to advise senior defense officials, including the President, National Security Staff, Secretary of Defense, and Joint Chiefs of Staff. While at the Pentagon, Brian authored several articles for the President’s Daily Brief and deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Brian received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
