Fellowship Programs for Law Students

One of the qualities that sets Weil apart from our peers is our distinctive culture. From its founding, the Firm has been rooted in a spirit of openness, excellence, and forward-thinking leadership. For decades, Weil has cultivated a culture that values collaboration, integrity, and innovation—principles that continue to guide our work and relationships today.

We established the Weil Fellowship Program to welcome the next generation of attorneys who are committed to contributing meaningfully to the Firm’s culture and shaping its future.

About the Weil Fellowship

The Weil Fellowship is open to all students currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school with an expected graduation date of spring 2028 and who intend to practice law in a city in which Weil has a U.S. office. Eligible students may not be the recipient of a similar scholarship award from another law firm.

2L Weil Fellowships

Weil Fellows receive a $50,000 scholarship award. The first $25,000 is paid upon joining the firm for the entire 2027 2L Summer Associate program. The balance is paid upon starting as a full-time associate following graduation. Weil Fellows also will receive an offer of employment to join the Firm’s 2026 1L Summer Associate program as a summer associate.

Application

The application process is open to all law school students who meet the fellowship’s eligibility requirements outlined below. An internal selection panel will evaluate all applications, considering factors such as academic achievement (both during and prior to law school), work and leadership experience, and demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity, collaboration, and mentorship. Fellowship applications are considered by the committee on a rolling-basis. It is not necessary to apply separately to the Summer Associate program; the completed Fellowship application denotes consideration for both Fellowship and the summer program.
