The Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) has named Weil “Law Firm of the Year” at its 2026 Counsel of the Year Awards – an honor recognizing exceptional achievement among leading law firms serving the entertainment, media and sports industries.

The Counsel of the Year Awards celebrate accomplished in-house counsel and business affairs leaders at major entertainment, media and sports organizations, as well as standout attorneys at top law firms.

Founded in late 2005, AMEC is a professional organization of more than 14,000 members working in various legal roles at major entertainment and media companies and law firms.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 15, where Private Equity partner and Head of Weil’s Entertainment, Sports & Media practice, Tom Ara, accepted the honor on behalf of the Firm.
