IJGlobal Investor has given its 2025 “Acquisition of the Year” award to BCI’s acquisition of BBGI Global Infrastructure. Weil advised BCI on the transaction.

The deal was one of the most significant infrastructure deals in 2025, showing strategic consolidation in the sector. The category recognizes the most outstanding acquisitions in the infrastructure or energy sector, demonstrating strategic leadership, financial complexity, and market impact. 

BCI’s offer for BBGI valued the entire issued and to be issued share capital of BBGI at £1.062 billion. BCI is amongst the largest institutional investors in Canada, and BBGI is a responsible infrastructure investment company and constituent of the FTSE 250 that invests in and actively manages for the longterm a globally diversified, low-risk portfolio of essential social infrastructure investments.
