Weil partner Charan Sandhu, Head of the Firm’s Technology & IP Transactions practice, was honored by Sakhi for South Asian Survivors at the organization’s 37th Anniversary Gala, “In Our Power,” held May 1, 2026, at The Glasshouse in New York City.
The inspiring evening celebrated empowerment, resilience and community. Charan was honored for her transformative impact on gender justice within the South Asian and Indo-Caribbean diaspora. Through her longstanding pro bono work with Sakhi, Charan has provided compassionate legal advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence, helping advance access to justice and community empowerment. At the event, Charan shared remarks reflecting on the importance of supporting survivors and advancing Sakhi’s mission.
Sakhi for South Asian Survivors is a New York-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. The gala raised the highest amount in the organization’s history, helping advance Sakhi’s mission of justice, healing and care for survivors and their communities.
