Complex Commercial Litigation partner Arianna Scavetti has been named to Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40 Class of 2026,” which recognizes “the most influential young leaders for the year within the sports industry.”
In a profile published by Sports Business Journal, Arianna discussed how she has combined her lifelong passion for sports with her legal practice, advising sports organizations on issues ranging from player rights to the changing landscape of college sports.
“You really are drawing on that EQ piece of the skill set, in addition to just the core legal knowledge, to try and help clients work through a landscape that’s changing every day,” Arianna said.
The publication also highlighted her work advising the NWSL Players Association, including in NCAA v. Alston and in connection with a 14-month joint investigation with the league; the WNBPA; tennis star Elena Rybakina; and Washington State University.
The NWSL investigation resulted in changes to personnel and policy, enhanced player protections and a $5 million restitution fund for players.
“We had a really meaningful impact on the league,” Arianna noted. “The most important thing that came out of those investigations was the players feeling much more empowered to speak up.”
Arianna’s sports work has continued to grow alongside her broad commercial litigation practice, increasingly bringing together her interest in sports and her work as a litigator.
