Courtney Carpinello
Courtney Carpinello is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice. She focuses on a broad range of business disputes in a variety of industries, including financial services, entertainment and media, and pharmaceuticals.

Courtney’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • Steward Health Care System LLC, the largest private, physician-owned for-profit healthcare network in the United States with over $8 billion in debt obligations, in a chapter 11 adversary preceding for breach of contract.
  • A multi-billion dollar, court-ordered liquidation of energy company Citgo, owned by the country of Venezuela, widely regarded as the largest-ever court-supervised company sale.
  • A global automotive parts manufacturer in their chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Courtney also maintains a robust pro bono practice. She works with the Innocence Project to challenge convictions based on outdated or disproven science and the Washington Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Right and Urban Affairs to protect First Amendment religious freedoms. She also plays a key role in Weil’s Summer Associate Program and New York recruiting efforts.

Courtney received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was president of the Film, Literature & Media Society. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Penn History Review.
