Weil has been shortlisted for two honors at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards 2025, recognizing partner Jenine Hulsmann in the “Innovative practitioner” category and Weil in the “Innovative Lawyers in Restructuring” category.
Antitrust partner Jenine Hulsmann has been shortlisted for “Innovative practitioner”, which recognizes the most innovative lawyers in the industry. The award showcases legal practitioners who have changed the way legal work is done, how they have influenced their firms, industry, business or wider society, and how they are changing the way the firm works with clients. Jenine is at the forefront of AI partnerships, advising on most of the UK antitrust investigation involving AI. Her work is groundbreaking and setting industry standards.
Weil’s role advising the bondholders in the US$23 billion restructuring of Ukraine’s sovereign debt has been recognized in the “Innovative Lawyers in Restructuring” category. The transaction, implemented through an exchange offer and consent solicitation, included innovative features such as contingent principal increases and loss reinstatement rights. The deal provides Ukraine with meaningful debt relief while supporting its return to international capital markets.
The awards ceremony will be a celebration of the best in innovation from law firms and in-house legal teams in the Europe region. With over 20 awards, the ceremony recognizes leaders in digital innovation, strategic advice, talent management and driving positive change in the profession. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony taking place at the Natural History Museum in London on September 18, 2025.
