Weil has been shortlisted for top honors at China Law & Practice Awards 2022, highlighting the Firm’s expertise and accomplishments advising “the most important commercial legal matters that involved lawyers in China.”

Recognition went to China Managing Partner Charles Ching who has been named one of the finalists for International Dealmaker of the Year, and Shanghai-based counsel Yujing Liu who has been shortlisted for Rising Star of the Year.

Weil has also been recognized for its work on the landmark US$4.3 billion take-private of 51job, Inc., which has been shortlisted for both M&A Deal of the Year and Finance Deal of the Year. The Weil team members involved in the M&A and financing aspects of the transaction include Hong Kong partner Chris Welty, counsel Kevin Yao, and associates Max Chu, Qi Zhang, Graham Price and Alan Wen.

Widely recognized as one of China’s most renowned awards for the legal industry, China Law & Practice Awards honor exceptional achievements across a range of practices and disciplines. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Beijing on September 8, 2022.
