Marc Silberberg
Marc Silberberg retired from the partnership in 2019. He was a partner in Weil’s Tax Department and was based in New York. His practice focused principally on the structuring and negotiation of mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings on behalf of publicly traded companies, closely held companies, and private equity funds and their portfolio companies.

Marc served as a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section and as a co-chair of its Committees on Investment Funds, Pass-Through Entities, and Tax Accounting. He was a frequent lecturer and panelist on federal income tax matters.

Marc was consistently recognized as a leading Tax lawyer by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers and recognized as a “Bankruptcy Tax Specialist” by Turnarounds & Workouts magazine. He was also recommended for US Taxes: Non-Contentious by Legal 500 US. Marc was also named a 2014 Tax “MVP” by Law360.

Marc served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of HIAS, a global nonprofit that protects refugees.

Marc received his J.D. and LL.M in taxation from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Northwestern University.
