I came back to Weil because as soon as I started talking to Weil lawyers again during the lateral interviewing process I was immediately struck by how seamless I knew it would be to reintegrate to the Firm – everyone was so smart, poised and collaborative, and all of the positive factors stemming from a partnership that values these traits were immediately apparent. During the years I was gone there were changes at the Firm, but the ethos (and all of the things I missed) were still here in spades. What has been the best surprise since your return? The best mentality is the fact that Weil has been able to preserve its culture despite all of the changes in the market, and that Weil’s growth mentality seems (to me) to be sustainable and well thought out. I’ve also loved re-connecting with everyone that I saw in the halls a decade ago and reminiscing on everything that has happened in the intervening years. It’s also been great to meet all of the new members of Weil who have joined since I first left and to see them being the stewards and builders of what Weil’s culture is and will be in the upcoming years.
