Selma received her B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she worked on the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. During law school she worked as a law clerk at Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and as a student attorney for the Criminal Justice Institute.
