Robert Peel
Robert Peel is an associate in the Business Finance & Restructuring group of Weil’s London office.

Robert has been involved in a number of well-known restructurings and formal insolvency procedures and his experience includes cross-border restructuring matters, including out-of-court restructurings, distressed investing, formal restructuring and insolvency procedures, advising distressed corporates, financial institutions and working with leading insolvency practitioners.

Robert is particularly interested in sovereign and high yield restructurings. As part of a team, he is currently advising the ad hoc committee of creditors in the sovereign restructuring of Ukraine.

Robert’s representations include:

  • The ad hoc committee of senior secured noteholders on the restructuring of Edcon Limited
  • Franklin Templeton and other investors in relation to Ukrainian sovereign and sub-sovereign debt

Prior to joining Weil in January 2015, Robert worked at a leading South African law firm.

Robert is a member of both R3 and the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association.
