Michael Foland
Michael Foland is an associate in Weil’s Public Company Advisory Group and is based in Washington, D.C. Michael participates in the representation of U.S. public companies and foreign private issuers on securities law issues, disclosure, governance and compliance matters, including M&A and capital markets transactions.

Michael has been part of the teams advising:

  • Allego Holding B.V. (n/k/a Allego N.V.) (a portfolio company of Meridiam Infrastructure Partners) in its $3.14 billion business combination with Spartan Acquisition Corp. III, a SPAC sponsored by Spartan Acquisition Sponsor III LLC (an affiliate of Apollo Global Management)
  • TPG Inc. in its $1.1 billion initial public offering
  • Leafly Holdings, Inc. in its business combination with Merida Merger Corp. I, a SPAC sponsored by Merida Capital Holdings
  • Basic Energy Services, Inc. in connection with its chapter 11 cases and sale of substantially all of its assets

Michael served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army from 2009 to 2013 and currently serves as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Michael received his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he was a Primary and Staff Editor for the Journal of Law and Policy, his M.S. in Finance from the Daniels College of Business at University of Denver and his B.S. from the University of Denver.
