Liam Hickey is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Boston. Mr. Hickey participates in the representation of financial sponsors in domestic and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and minority investments. He also has experience advising portfolio companies of private equity funds on general corporate matters.
Mr. Hickey has played a significant role on the teams advising Advent International Corporation, Berkshire Partners, Brookfield Property Partners, Providence Equity Partners, Providence Strategic Growth, TCV and Thomas H. Lee Partners.
Mr. Hickey received his LL.B. (Hons) and B.Sc. (Immunology and Microbiology) from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Weil, he was legal counsel at the Future Fund (the sovereign wealth fund of Australia), where he focused on fund and direct investments in a range of asset classes, with a particular focus on private equity and infrastructure. He also previously worked as an associate in the Melbourne office of an international law firm, where he focused on public and private M&A and equity capital markets transactions in the infrastructure, natural resources and private equity sectors, and as a judicial clerk at the High Court of Australia.
