Kimberly Barbour
Kimberly Barbour is an associate in the Restructuring Department of Weil’s New York office.

Kimberly received her B.S. in Legal Studies, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University. She received her J.D. summa cum laude, from New York Law School where she served as the Executive Citations and Substance Editor for the New York Law School Law Review and Senior Editor of the Trial Competition Team. Kimberly interned for the Honorable Joel H. Slomsky of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she was honored with the Alfred L. Rose Award for Excellence, the Stephen J. Ellmann Clinical Legal Education Prize, the Dean’s Award, and the Faculty Award for Outstanding Service to the New York Law School Law Review. Kimberly maintains an active pro bono practice and represents students and parents in special education matters.

Kimberly has been a member of teams advising clients in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including:

Debtor/Company-Side Experience:

  • Western Global Airlines, LLC, a contracted air cargo transportation and logistics services company with an aggregate principal amount of $515 million in funded debt, in its chapter 11 cases.

Creditor/Sponsor/Other Party Experience:

  • Digital Currency Group, Inc. (parent of Genesis Capital) in connection with the chapter 11 cases of Genesis Global Holdco, LLC with approximately $3.4 billion in debt.
