Since joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2008, Mr. Szoboszlai has represented a wide range of Hungarian and international clients across his main practice areas. Mr. Szoboszlai has advised on a number of public offerings and private placements of shares, stock exchange listings and major bond offerings. Mr. Szoboszlai regularly represents Hungarian and international banks as well as major borrowers in project finance, syndicated lending and re-financing transactions, financial restructurings and work-out situations, as well as enforcement of security interests. He has also provided regulatory advice for financial institutions regulations relating to bank takeovers and compliance with government and regulatory bodies, as well as licensing procedures.
Prior to joining Weil, Mr. Szoboszlai worked as a tax advisor at the Budapest office of one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he represented major Hungarian and international clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence investigations, transfer pricing matters and international taxation. Prior to that, he was a legal trainee at a major Hungarian company.
Mr. Szoboszlai is fluent in English, in addition to his native Hungarian.
