David Tews
David Tews is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Boston. David participates in the representation of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

David has been part of the teams advising:

  • Advent International Corporation in its acquisition of a substantial minority stake in Iodine Software, LLC, in a transaction that valued Iodine at more than $1 billion; the acquisition by its affiliate AI Beauty Holdings of bareMinerals, BUXOM and Laura Mercier (collectively, n/k/a Orveon); and RxBenefits, Inc. in its acquisition of Confidio, LLC
  • iFIT Health & Fitness Inc. (f/k/a ICON Health & Fitness) (a portfolio company of L Catteron and Pamplona Capital) in its sale of preferred stock to Planet Fitness, Inc.
  • Kantar Group (a portfolio company of Bain Capital Private Equity) in its acquisition of Numerator
  • Providence Equity Partners and its portfolio company TCP Software in its acquisition of Aladtec, Inc.

David received his J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, where he was an editor for the Review of Banking and Financial Law and a Paul J. Liacos Scholar. He received his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
