Daniel Abercromby
Daniel Abercromby is a partner in the Banking & Finance practice of the Firm’s Hong Kong office. Mr. Abercromby focuses on leveraged and acquisition finance transactions, together with the refinancing and restructuring of such transactions. He represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as other corporate borrowers and lenders (primarily direct-lending credit funds), in a wide variety of financings in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, with a particular focus on China, Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Mr. Abercromby has worked for extended periods on secondment at Goldman Sachs in London on the execution desk of the leveraged finance team as well as at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore in the legal team supporting the leveraged and project finance teams.

Mr. Abercromby has been recognized as a “highly regarded” lawyer for Banking & Finance in The Legal 500 and as a Notable Practitioner by IFLR1000.

  • Blackstone Real Estate Partners on a margin loan in connection with its investment in the listed Embassy Office Parks REIT in India, the first offshore margin loan of its kind in India
  • Baring Private Equity Asia on the leveraged financing for the acquisition of a controlling stake in NIIT Technologies, a company listed on the NSE and BSE in India
  • Advent International on the leveraged financing for its acquisition of Manjushree Technopak
  • Noble Group in relation to the restructuring of its capital structure
  • Blackstone Capital Partners on the leveraged financing for its buy-out of Shya Hsin
  • Bain Capital Private Equity on the financing and subsequent refinancing for its $1.05 billion investment in Axis Bank
  • Blackstone Capital Partners and Blackstone Real Estate Partners on the leveraged financing for their acquisition of Global Sources Inc, including opco/propco facilities
  • Apax Partners in relation to a $180 million margin loan in connection with its investment in Shriram City Union Finance
