Cheri Bessellieu is a senior associate in Weil’s Technology & IP Transactions practice and a member of the Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and Information Management group.
Ms. Bessellieu is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and counsels Firm clients in connection with privacy and cybersecurity. Ms. Bessellieu also participates in advising clients in matters relating to the licensing, acquisition, development, sale, use, and commercial exploitation of intellectual property. She has experience in private equity, M&A, financing, and other corporate transactions, as well as in stand-alone intellectual property transactions, including licensing arrangements, intellectual property acquisitions and divestitures, and technology transfers. Ms. Bessellieu was previously a member of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice and has experience litigating matters and counseling clients regarding complex contractual disputes, copyright, trademark and music licensing.
In 2015, Ms. Bessellieu was seconded to Panasonic Corporation in Osaka, Japan as a member of Panasonic’s Licensing Department. She is recognized as a 2016 “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers.
Ms. Bessellieu joined Weil as a summer associate in 2007. She received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she served on the Fordham Law Review, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
