Weil’s IP practices again earned national honors in the 2019 edition of IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. The publication recognized both the Firm’s Patent Litigation and Technology & IP Transactions practices as among the best in the United States, and granted Weil a total of eight firmwide rankings while awarding 10 lawyers a combined 11 individual recommendations.
IAM Patent 1000 heralded Weil for having “an elevated patent trials practice that is consistently sought out by some of the most discerning and demanding global technology companies.” Weil’s Patent Litigation practice earned rankings nationally as well as in each of the primary regions where it operates, including California, the D.C. Metro area, New York and Texas. IAM Patent 1000 noted that Weil has a “tradition of excellence in patent litigation,” as evidenced by practice Co-Heads Edward Reines and Elizabeth Weiswasser, and partners Anish Desai, Doug McClellan and Garland Stephens receiving individual rankings.
Weil’s Technology & IP Transactions practice received a “highly recommended” ranking for Transactions in New York, while also earning recognition nationally and in California. IAM Patent 1000 commended Weil’s team for being “great at issue spotting and problem solving,” noting that the attorneys have done a massive amount of deal work, and “drive excellent outcomes in a highly pragmatic fashion.” Four U.S. Technology & IP Transactions partners are recognized in the IAM Patent 1000, including practice Head Michael Epstein and partners Karen Ballack, Jeffrey Osterman and Charan Sandhu.
