Weil’s Business Finance & Restructuring Department was highly recognized in Who’s Who Legal as part of its 2016 global Restructuring & Insolvency survey, with nine lawyers featured as industry leaders for their achievements in the field.
Marcia Goldstein was highlighted among the lawyers selected for inclusion this year as “one of the most highly nominated individuals in the world” and one of five “most highly regarded individuals” in the United States, based on recommendations of peers and corporate counsel. According to her peers, Ms. Goldstein is “the best in the business,” with a track record that is “second to none.” Her leadership in guiding the restructurings of WorldCom and Parmalat was also cited.
Stephen Karotkin was also noted for his representation of General Motors and his “universally well respected” reputation. Recent Weil addition Matthew Barr was also recognized as a “real asset,” along with the “eminent” Richard Krasnow, who is respectfully regarded as a “dean of the bankruptcy bar.” Alfredo Perez was also recognized for his lead role in the bankruptcies of American Airlines, City of Detroit, WorldCom and Lehman Brothers, among others.
Who’s Who Legal also recognized the Firm’s strong restructuring practice in Europe – praising Andrew Wilkinson as a “major player in the market,” alongside the “very fine” Adam Plainer in London, in addition to Jean-Dominique Daudier de Cassini and “first-class adviser” Philippe Druon in Paris.
Who’s Who Legal, with the aid of its sister publication Global Restructuring Review, identified the world’s leading figures in bankruptcy and restructuring law based upon comprehensive, independent survey work with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide.
