Weil won two recognitions at the fourth-annual Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards on June 3. The awards celebrate the achievements of those firms setting the standard in terms of female-friendly work practices and women leading the field in the legal sector across the Americas.
Ellen Odoner, Head of Weil’s Public Company Advisory Group, was named Best in Corporate Governance. The individual practice awards recognize the best lawyer in each practice area and winners were judged on their professional accomplishments as well as advocacy and influence within their field over the last year.
Weil was also named Best International Firm for Pro Bono Work. Weil’s pro bono committee takes a global approach to pro bono and has partnered with clients around the world on a range of initiatives in recent years. Last year alone, Weil performed more than 61,000 hours of pro bono work and is approaching the milestone of one million hours of service since our current program launched in August 2005.
