Benchmark Litigation has again honored Weil as IP Firm of the Year in the United States – for the second consecutive year. The award was announced last week as part of the sixth annual Benchmark Litigation U.S. awards event, which was held at The Pierre in New York City.
In addition to the practice group award, Weil Litigation Department Co-Chair Jonathan Polkes was recognized as White Collar Crime, Enforcement, and Investigations Litigator of the Year, and Mr. Polkes’s summary judgment win for Archstone was recognized as a high-impact case of the year. Weil also was shortlisted for Bankruptcy Firm of the Year in the United States, Mr. Polkes was shortlisted for Securities Litigator of the Year, Patent Litigation Co-Head Jared Bobrow was shortlisted as IP Litigator of the Year, and Antitrust/Competition Co-Head Steven Newborn was shortlisted as Antitrust Attorney of the Year.
This recent recognition caps another exceptional year of distinction for the Firm, which has been lauded in Benchmark Litigation as an “undisputed legal services powerhouse” and regularly honored by that publication as among the best in the country across practice areas.
The nominees for the U.S. awards were chosen based upon research, conducted between March and November 2017, that included an analysis of recent casework as well as interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.
