NEW YORK, April 1, 2019: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Benjamin de Blegiers will join the Firm as a Private Equity/M&A partner. Mr. de Blegiers is a recognized leader in the infrastructure sector advising infrastructure funds, pension plans, insurance companies and other long-term investors on their most challenging infrastructure transactions. “Benjamin is a key addition to the Firm,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “His outstanding position in the market will further enhance our offering to clients in the infrastructure space in Europe.”

David Aknin, from Weil’s Paris office, commented: “We see a strategic need to have an infrastructure practice of the same standing as our leading private equity and M&A group. In a relatively short period of time, Benjamin has achieved an outstanding reputation having worked on a large number of infrastructure M&A transactions for the most sought-after infrastructure investors. We are very happy to benefit from his skills and expertise which add significant capabilities in France and across Europe. Benjamin will work closely with James MacArthur and the rest of our infrastructure team in London and in our other offices to enhance our pan-European platform.”

Benjamin de Blegiers will join Weil from Clifford Chance where he is a partner in the Paris office. His practice focuses on Private Equity and M&A transactions, with a particular emphasis on transactions involving infrastructure assets.
