Weil Represents Caribbean Financial Group on its First-Ever Multi-Jurisdiction Personal Loan Securitization

Weil represented Caribbean Financial Group, a subsidiary of Irving Place Capital, on a $207 million ABS bond offering backed by personal consumer loans across multiple jurisdictions. The transaction, which closed on November 9, 2017, was the first ever multi-jurisdiction securitization of personal consumer loans and Caribbean Financial Group’s first-ever securitization. Caribbean Financial Group is a consumer finance company operating in the Caribbean and Panama.

The New York-based Weil team advising Caribbean Financial Group was led by Frank Nocco, co-head of the Firm’s Global Structured Finance & Derivatives practice, and included Structured Finance & Derivatives senior associate Shawn Kodes and associate Matthew Nemeth, Tax partner Larry Gelbfish, and Executive Compensation & Benefits partner Sarah Downie.
