Weil was recognized as antitrust counsel to BASF in its acquisition of assets divested in Bayer’s merger with Monsanto Company, which, in its entirety, was named “Matter of the Year” by Global Competition Review.
Weil served as U.S. antitrust counsel to BASF in its $11 billion acquisition of seed and herbicide businesses and assets from Bayer in connection with Bayer’s $66 billion acquisition of Monsanto, completed in June 2018. The divestiture to BASF was the largest negotiated merger divestiture ever required by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The ninth annual GCR Awards were held on March 26 in Washington, D.C., and celebrated the best in competition enforcement, merger and cartel defense.
