Pro Bono Net’s 15th anniversary event honored key supporters from the law firm, corporate, public interest, judicial and philanthropic communities. On the evening of Tuesday, September 23rd, Weil was recognized along with other honorees at a special event. Weil was singled out as one of a select group of firms that have taken their commitment to pro bono work “beyond the ordinary.” Specifically, Pro Bono Net celebrated the Firm’s commitment to smart technology applications that extend pro bono services, including our embrace of Pro Bono Manager, also known as the “Weil Pro Bono Hotspot,”—a database available to the entire Firm to access internal and external pro bono resources, track performance and staffing, and manage workflow.
Pro Bono Net is a national nonprofit organization based in New York City and San Francisco that works with nonprofit legal organizations across the United States and Canada to increase access to justice for the millions of poor people who face legal problems without a lawyer’s assistance. 15 years after its founding, Pro Bono Net is a thriving national resource, providing free support and training to more than 80,000 members drawn from the private bar, legal aid, civil rights, court, and law school sectors across the country. Pro Bono Net and Weil have worked together on many initiatives, notably coordinating online “mass pro bono” efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy.
