Weil had a strong showing in the inaugural FT Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Report, which was released today.
The Firm received the second-highest score among international firms in the corporate category, earning a “standout” ranking for its work advising GE on its transmission and distribution share swap to create a global partnership with XD Electric, a Chinese electronics manufacturer.
Also in the corporate category, Weil received a “commended” ranking for its work advising Lenovo Group, a Chinese technology company, on the $2.9 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility Group from Google. Weil ranked 15th overall among the top 25 international law firms.
The FT Innovative Lawyers Report, in partnership with RSG Consulting, ranks law firms that have brought original thinking and practices to business issues. Innovations are scored on originality, rational and impact. This is the first year a report on the Asia-Pacific region has been produced.
