Weil’s London Office has been ranked 7th overall among the top ten firms in Legal Week’s first-ever pro bono rankings in the U.K.
In addition, Weil ranked 3rd for percentage of lawyers doing pro bono and 4th for average pro bono hours per lawyer.
The top ten firms were selected from 30 firms that took part in the survey based on six key metrics: the total number of pro bono hours worked in the U.K. in the last financial year; the number of pro bono hours per fee earner; the percentage of lawyers doing pro bono; the number of full- or part-time pro bono professionals; whether pro bono work counts towards lawyers’ utilization targets; and how the Firm’s efforts were rated by its peers.
The Firm was commended for its role advising nonprofit organization Micro-Rainbow in opening the U.K.’s first safe house for LGBTI refugees and asylum seekers as well as its role advising the Royal Society for Blind Children on the development and launch of Wayfindr, which uses technology to enable vision-impaired people to navigate the London Underground and other transports networks independently.
