Weil has been ranked 7th overall in Legal Week’s third annual pro bono ranking of U.K. firms. It is the third consecutive year Weil has received this high ranking, underscoring the Firm’s sustained commitment to pro bono service and leadership in the legal community.
The publication noted that the level of pro bono engagement by Weil’s lawyers in London is among the highest in the market, as is the amount of time they dedicate to pro bono matters.
The publication also recognized Weil’s efforts to assist communities most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlighted Weil’s work advising Social Investment Business on the execution of £30 million worth of emergency loans to charities and social enterprises across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland via the “Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund.”Forty-five international law firms participated in Legal Week’s pro bono survey. The publication selected the top 10 firms based on six key metrics: the total number of pro bono hours worked in the U.K. in the last financial year; the number of pro bono hours per fee earner; the percentage of lawyers doing pro bono; the number of full- or part-time pro bono professionals; whether pro bono work counts toward lawyers’ utilization targets; and how firms’ efforts were rated by their peers
