Weil is pleased to announce the publication of the Firm’s twelfth annual Litigation Wins Report, a compilation of some of the most significant victories obtained for our clients in 2014-2015. The theme of this year’s edition is “Frontline Leadership, Bottom-Line Results.” It highlights not only our litigators’ ability to triumph for our clients when confronted with complex or never-before-seen challenges but also our sharp focus on legal solutions that help our clients realize their business objectives. The publication also demonstrates the wide-ranging, interdisciplinary capabilities of the Firm across so many areas of litigation. These victories, as in past years, confirm our place in the forefront of legal and business trends and as one of the premier litigation practices worldwide.
This year’s report features Weil litigation teams excelling time and again for an array of both longstanding and newer clients. These include CBS, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Farmers Insurance Exchange, Procter & Gamble, and the local TV industry led by Meredith, Scripps and Hoak stations, as well as lululemon athletica and Aéropostale, to name just a few. The report also includes major victories achieved by teams based in our non-U.S. offices around the world, such as the massive tax award secured for Littlewoods in the U.K., and the wins achieved for two Hungarian state-owned energy enterprises, Magyar Villamos Művek, and Magyar Földgázkereskedő.
Of course, none of the Firm’s successes are more valued than its many pro bono victories, for which Weil performed over 61,000 hours of work last year alone. Our litigators, for example, saved the life of a longtime death-row inmate and successfully represented special education students, victims of human trafficking, and clients asserting their right to religious freedom.
