Weil was recognized as one of the top law firms for charitable donations in 2014, according to Law360’s first-ever survey of “BigLaw’s Biggest Givers.” The philanthropy survey highlighted the top 10 law firms, ranked according to total charitable giving for 2014. Weil ranked fourth on the list.
Executive Partner Barry Wolf commented that giving back has always been part of the Firm’s culture. He explained that financial gifts are one of the Firm’s three philanthropic legs, which also include pro bono service and the provision of non-legal services to the community, such as serving on nonprofit boards and other individual involvement with charitable organizations.
“The strategy is one of maximum giving and giving back to the communities in which we work and live,” said Mr. Wolf. “Fortunately, the firm is successful, and therefore the partners are successful, and we feel it’s our obligation to give back.”
