Weil’s London office was recently named as one of the top five community investors in the UK at the inaugural GivX Community Value Awards for 2017, a new annual index of corporate giving. The Firm was the highest placed law firm and was listed as the top company in volunteering and philanthropy.
The London office leads a cohort of companies that are pioneering best practice in effectively reporting the impact of their Corporate Responsibility programs. We were listed in four place overall and the top-25 winners also included ITV, HSBC, London Stock Exchange, Bank of England, National Grid and John Lewis.
GivX allows companies and organizations to simply and effectively measure their community investment. Impact measurement has been a hotly debated topic in the Corporate Responsibility field. GivX enables companies to benchmark six different areas of their community investment program against others. Donations, fundraising and volunteering work are made comparable in terms of the ‘Community Value’ a company has created, defined as the replacement cost a charity would have to pay if it were to purchase similar goods or services on the open market.
Weil was recently recognized TrustLaw Innovation Award win for pro bono work in advising Micro Rainbow International to develop the UK’s first ever safe-house for LGBTI refugees.
