Weil has been recognized as a 2015 “Gold Honoree” by the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Empire State Counsel® Program, which honors bar association members and law firms that contribute a significant number of pro bono hours to aid low-income and vulnerable populations throughout the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Weil attorneys completed more than 30,000 hours of pro bono service in 2015, with more than 260 attorneys performing 50 hours or more of pro bono service during the year. This impressive achievement was recognized during the NYSBA’s annual meeting at the Justice for All luncheon on Thursday, January 28.
Since the Empire State Counsel® Program was launched in 2006, more than 7,017 NYSBA members have earned the prestigious credential of Empire State Counsel® Honorees, collectively donating nearly 1.3 million pro bono hours.
