Weil has been recognized for its work as antitrust counsel to Allergan in its $63 billion acquisition by AbbVie, which was named “Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas” at the 2021 Global Competition Review Awards.
The publication noted the “finesse and good lawyering” required to obtain global merger clearance for the transaction, which combined two of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
Weil was also recently honored by International Financial Law Review, which named the transaction “M&A Deal of the Year” at the 2021 IFLR Europe Awards.
Weil’s antitrust team included global Head of Antitrust/Competition practice Steven Newborn, partners Brianne Kucerik and Vadim Brusser, counsel Michael Naughton and Rob Meyer, and associates Natalie Hayes, Vivian Wang, Anthony Duh, Geneva Hardesty and Jarui Wang.
