Weil again scored top results in Legal Media Group’s 2016 LMG Life Sciences rankings, demonstrating the Firm’s continued prowess in the life sciences sector in the United States. Heralding Weil as an “undisputed litigation powerhouse,” LMG’s analysis notes that the Firm “draws praise for its firmly entrenched presence in the life sciences space, a position it has claimed for decades.”
Notably, Weil’s U.S. Antitrust practice achieved the premier “Highly Recommended” ranking in this year’s guide, and seven Weil attorneys were named “Life Science Stars.” Antitrust practice head Steven Newborn and partner Ann Malester were praised as “absolutely top-tier,” while Product Liability partner Diane Sullivan was praised as a “nationally revered trial lawyer” with a “who’s who list of clients.” LMG also singled out co-Head of Weil’s Securities Litigation practice, John Neuwirth, for his “carefully and steadily cultivated” series of victories on behalf of client Sanofi in two separate securities fraud class actions. Partners Edward Reines, Charan Sandhu and Elizabeth Weiswasser also were recognized as Stars.
In September, the Firm received six different commendations at Legal Media Group’s fourth annual Life Sciences Awards, which honored the best Life Sciences lawyers and firms across several practice areas. Of particular note, Weil was named Antitrust Firm of the Year and Steven Newborn was awarded Antitrust Litigator of the Year.
LMG Life Sciences is an annual guide focusing on U.S. attorneys and firms in the life sciences industry. Research for the publication is based on nearly 1,000 interviews and surveys completed by practitioners and clients who are active in the market.
