The Honorable Jonathan Lippman, the Chief Judge of the State of New York, presided over the event, which was held at The Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan.
Founded in 1876, The Legal Aid Society handles 300,000 individual cases and matters annually, providing a comprehensive range of civil, criminal and juvenile rights services to clients who, due to poverty, might otherwise be denied access to justice.
