Warsaw – Weil, Gotshal & Manges acted as lead legal counsel on matters of Polish, U.K. and U.S. law to joint global coordinators Goldman Sachs International, Dom Maklerski Mercurius, Pekao Investment Banking and UniCredit Bank AG, in connection with the initial public offering (the IPO) of Idea Bank S.A. on the Warsaw Stock Exchange on April 16, 2015.
As part of the initial public offering, investors were allocated a total of 10.6 million shares in Idea Bank S.A., of which approximately 10 million were subscribed for by institutional investors and 600 thousand by individual investors. The value of the issued shares amounted to PLN 254 million. To date, the offering of Idea Bank S.A. has been the largest IPO by a Polish company in 2015.
Capital Markets partners Marcin Chyliński and Anna Frankowska and counsel Ewa Bober headed the transaction. The transaction team also included partner and head of the Tax practice Robert Krasnodębski, counsel in the Corporate practice Monika Kierepa, and associates Filip Leśniak, Barbara Sobowska, Marek Kanczew and Wojciech Czyżewski.
