Weil Advises Brookfield Asset Management in its Acquisition of Rouse Properties

Weil is advising longtime client Brookfield Asset Management Inc. in its definitive agreement to acquire Rouse Properties, Inc. As part of the deal, Brookfield will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Rouse’s common stock, other than those shares currently held by Brookfield Property Partners L.P. and its affiliates, in a transaction valued at approximately $2.8 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2016 and is subject to customary closing conditions.
